WC 100 - Into the Woods, Out of the Woods, Communities and Education

In addition to using web-based resources, you must find and use 1 peer-reviewed journal article for each paper. The following database is a multidisciplinary database covering many fields of study. You should be able to find many articles related to the various core values, as well as those that discuss potential solutions and challenges related to any number of social justice issues.

TIPS:

  1. When searching the database use the specific core value or social justice issue term or phrase as a keyword. If the topic is more than one word, place it in quotes, for example, "gender equity."
  2. For the social justice paper, consider using "challenges" and other system-supplied synonyms in the second search box to narrow the results.
  3. Using the drop down menu, search for terms in the title of the articles. This reduces the number of results.
  4. Limit results to scholarly, peer-reviewed journals available in full text by checking the appropriate boxes in the area below the search boxes.
  5. You may also consider limiting by language and publication date to reduce the number of results even more.
