You must utilize the library for several assignments in WC 100. See more information below. Use this guide to help you complete the assignments.
In this paper, identify a core value, why you selected the core value, a definition in your own words, and a definition from another source (If you use a dictionary APA recommends Merriam-Webster Online Dictionary). Compare the two definitions. How are they similar? How are they different? Describe the meaning of the value to you. How does understanding this core value help you connect to Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College?
In addition to the dictionary, cite at least 1 reference from a professional, peer-reviewed journal to support statements. Internet websites do not qualify as scholarly references. Journal articles can be retrieved from the SMWC Library Database, if possible. The references should be cited in proper APA style.
In this paper, provide a brief overview of why you chose this college and how what you have experienced reflects on your choice. What is something you learned about the Sisters/SMWC that you really found interesting and why? Maybe what is something that is not here anymore, but you wish it was and why? What is something that all students who come to this school should know and why? Why is it important to understand the history of a place such as the college you are attending?
Select and cite at least credible references during your reflection. This could be from print materials, such as The Letters and Journals of St. Mother Theodore Guerin. You could cite something one of the Sisters or employees stated on a tour. You can also cite graphic sources such as paintings or images. Remember all of the great items you saw and experienced in the archives? The only requirement is that what you use be cited correctly and attributed. Hint: The best place to get source cites is with your historical discussion.
The goal of this assignment is to create solid, data-driven arguments to show why your side is right and the other side is wrong. To earn the maximum grade, students are expected to provide supportive data for their three arguments.
